One-Word Review of Torchwood. Plus bonus Dukes of Hazzard.

Somehow, I don't think this is going to be an acceptable review to turn in to the copy editor...

Also, after the Torchwood finale, Graham Norton had the original Dukes of Hazzard stars on (that would be John Schneider, Tom Wopat and Catherine Bach...and yes, I am enough of a hick that I knew their names without having to look them up).  While they were there, Graham went to a website that included a guide on How To Write An Episode of The Dukes of Hazzard.  It includes such vital tips as:  Be creative in the structure of your episode, but adhere to the following rule: If the question "Is this the episode where Boss Hogg comes up with a crazy scheme to put the Dukes in jail or swindle honest folk, but in the end is foiled in part due to his own stupidity?" doesn't apply to your episode, you've got to go back to the drawing board.

I'm now desperately wanting to write the Heroes version of this how-to article.  Thank you, Graham Norton, for providing me with yet another distraction from the things I should be writing!

(Okay.  John Schneider just announced that the name he uses in adult movies is "Ram Peters".  I think it's time for me to turn the TV off and go to bed.)

I'm now desperately wanting to write the Heroes version of this how-to article.
You do know that now that you have mentioned this article, I must read it, right? I mean, there is no way that this cannot be written! Also, [Warning: Random "Dukes"-related ramble ahead] I can name the actual actors who played the Duke boys, but whenever I see one of them on TV, I have to ask whoever is nearby, "Now, which one was he again?!?" Like, as I type this, I have no idea. (I am leaning towards blond/Bo and brunette/Luke, but this is only because I had this very discussion about three weeks ago when John Schneider sang the National Anthem at a race I was watching.) But I can tell Enis from Cletus... and that is what was most important anyway.

I don't know whether to write it or not. I have a feeling that if I do, the best words to describe it will be "bitter" and "vindictive". On the other hand, it might be cathartic for everyone...

A funny Dukes of Hazzard anecdote: one of my college friends hated the show. When asked why, she said it was because of Cooter. When pressed for more information, she finally explained that in the part of West Virginia that she came from, "cooter" was slang for female genitalia, and so her entire family had been horrified by the character's name. We had never heard this before in Ohio, and laughed very hard.
