Moonlight Beth OMG!!!
Well, in one of my weirder TV viewing moments, I was sitting down to eat dinner while feeling impatient for Jericho and the awesome Lennie James to come on. So I randomly turned on Discovery Health, and they're showing a British TV movie called Born With Two Mothers starring...Lennie James. That was more than a little freaking odd.

Slash Moment #1: If you've been around the online Heroes fandom this week, you've probably seen the discussions about someone who may or may not have claimed to be dating a Heroes star via the astral plane. If you haven't heard about it...believe me, you don't want to know, I kind of wish I didn't. But somehow I stumbled across this comment thread of utter crack in which Dr. Mohinder Suresh kicks in his two cents on the matter, and other male characters from Heroes begin replying, and it degenerates into something rivaling the TWoP Hoyay thread for sheer hilarity.

Slash Moment #2: I used to be a constant reader of Neil Gaiman's blog. Not really sure why I slacked off. At any rate, a while back I was describing to someone a post of his about the origins of slashfic from several years ago, and this afternoon I was motivated to look it up. This is actually the first "slash" I actually read. If you go there, keep reading through the discussion of copyright - there's another Kirk/Spock reference near the end that will crack you up. I can never decide if his description of slashfic authors is genuine or if he just wanted to avoid unnecessarily hurting anyone's feelings.

Oh, that Mohinder Suresh sock was the most entertaining part of all the wank, IMO. I wish I knew who that person was (and who the others were), because I want to congratulate them on that thread of absolute genius.

And I had a good laugh over the Neil Gaiman link. I just started reading "Good Omens", and I feel embarrassed for not having heard of him until recently :P Now I'm afraid that I'll be browsing around in his blog instead of studying for the test I have tomorrow...

I am so glad that almost everyone was out of the office today, because I laughed out loud at that thread. And then read it again, and laughed again. "DR MOHINDER SURESH, CAUGHT RED-HANDED", indeed.

Neil Gaiman's blog will suck you in. He writes so well, and with such a quietly sly sense of humor. And as he says frequently on it, he really enjoys writing in it.

I am just dropping by to say you're an absolute nutcase.

And "no pressure" my ASS! :P

*squishes you for your nuttiness*

I LUV U 2, BAYBEE!!!! XD

Thank you so much! I'd been wondering, because there's at least one secret a day on F!S about it, and...

...this will teach me to be curious, fo. SHO.

It's...just...wow. Wow.

Just pet the shiny pretty crack, and try to avert your eyes from the car crash.

I somehow missed all that batshit craziness. But the fandom_wank thread about it has me LOLing. Mohinder added his two cents there, too. XD

(Huh? What's with the random "UNFOLD" stuck in there? I can't get rid of it. LJ hates HTML.)

I KNOW. I've reached a point where I type up all my posts in the HTML editor and add the tags by hand, because when I try to do it in the rich text editor, it's all screwy. Is it really that hard to create an editor that works properly?

Man. I am all over the place topically tonight. I should just go to bed and hope I can concentrate better in the morning.

who may or may not have claimed to be dating a Heroes star via the astral plane.
Wait. What? No, really... what? I kept seeing that craziness over at Fandom Secrets and was like "Oh fandom, what is going on? And why did it not start until I left?" So of course now, since I am nosy naturally curious, I must catch up, (clearly it was "on the astral plane" that made it imperative.) or at least read as much as I can until I just can't take it anymore. Probably the latter.

And I think Jericho may be the next show I try to get into. I've been meaning to for a while (I had a friend who would not stop talking about how great it was back before it was canceled), but I never did. Hopefully I can get caught up by the time the next episode airs. 26 episodes in one week? Totally doable.

Oh, the first season of Jericho has ISSUES. I did not like it until a friend forced me to watch it with an eye for comedy, and then I started getting into it for the guilty pleasure. And then I realized how amazingly made of awesome Hawkins was. He's the voice of reason.

You know how TV characters will do stupid things, and you sit there desperately wondering wishing the other characters would call them out, or at least not say something idiotic in reply? Hawkins does what you wish he would do. Last week, Jake was plotting a full frontal vigilante assault on an enemy when he knew Major Beck was watching him like a hawk, and Hawkins said, "If you were smart, you'd wait 3 months for things to quiet down and then sneak over and kill him in his sleep. This is just about you wanting to be a badass, and I will have nothing to do with it." And then he walked away. ILU HAWKINS! (Jake is normally fairly awesome too, but this season, he's a little unhinged from his dad's death and the war with New Bern.)

If you don't have time or access to episodes to watch, check out Keckler's recaps at TWoP. The message boards for the show over there used to be fun to lurk in, too. A number of Heroes regulars (Chainlightning and Warden come to mind immediately) frequented them, too.

I am such a dork.

EXCUSE ME? YOUR CHOCOLATE COVERED DONUT? I'M THE ONE HE STALKS, NOT YOU.

...OH. WAIT A MINUTE. YOU WERE ASKING ABOUT YOUR ACTUAL LITERAL DONUT THAT DISAPPEARED OFF THE KITCHEN COUNTER LAST NIGHT, WEREN'T YOU? UM, I THINK MOLLY ATE IT.

This wank is cracking me up endlessly. Thing is, I've been on her flist for a few weeks now, and it was obvious she was unstable, but she was just too crazy to defriend - the lulz were amazing. And now that it's come out that she thinks she's dating ZQ on the astral plane, a lot of her entries take on an entirely new light, and, wow. Just wow.

I love Neil Gaiman an impossible amount.

I wondered. I've now reached a point where I kind of feel uncomfortable about the whole thing because her behavior seems to point to her having massive issues, and I wonder why her close friends and relatives aren't trying to get her some help. Of course, that hasn't stopped me from laughing my butt off at the cracky commenters.

I adore Neil Gaiman, too. I was a massive Terry Pratchett fan in high school and that was why I originally read Good Omens. But there was darkness in there that I'd never seen in Pratchett's writing, so I moved over into Gaiman's. And now I'd take him over Pratchett any day. I have mentioned that he lives less than an hour from my house, and mentions restaurants in his blog that I also eat at, and his online store is handled by a comics store just a mile or two away from me, haven't I? (I AM NOT A STALKER!!!!)

OMG that cracky thread is AMAZING. If only they weren't all anonymous, we could drag them all over to the HoYay thread.
