You know what the cutest thing in the world is?
You know that geeky glasses-pushing-up thing he does on Heroes
? That's not a characterization - that's just Masi. I can't count how many times he did it in the 30 minutes he was on stage. I'll have to sort through to see if I have some better pics; I was actually quite far away from the stage and my hands were unsteady, and they bounced around a lot, so it was very hard to get focused pictures of them.
Also cute? When someone asked if he could be any other character on Heroes
, who would he be...and after thinking a bit, he decided he'd like to be Sylar, and even mimed cutting people's heads off with a katana.
And speaking of Sylar, there is one other thing I've seen today that might have been cuter...
Go ahead and make fun of me, but this is the first big-time actor I've ever met (I'm from Ohio and I live in Minnesota, the only big-time person we have is The Purple One). I barely spoke to him because once I got close enough to hear his voice, I started shaking like a 14-year-old girl, and I knew if I started babbling and said something to embarrass myself, I'd come back to the hotel room and curl up under the pillows and not come out again till my plane left.
But, seriously, he is absolutely adorable. He's intent yet sweet, if that makes sense. He's very serious about saying hi to everyone and shaking your hand. I had him sign a pic for someone else and then when he went to sign my DVD, I had to prompt him on my name again and he was incredibly apologetic about how he'd just gotten off a plane and wasn't settled down yet.
Also, right after he signed for me, a camera crew from the con came up and wanted to film him a bit, and he gave a look down the lines of people still waiting and then looked back at them like, "WTF? Do you not see
all these people who've paid to get my autograph?"
I'm trying to decide if it would look totally psycho if I went back and got another autograph tomorrow. I think tomorrow, I could actually speak to him. Right now, though, I'm so keyed up that I can't even eat my lunch.
Anyway. I've missed the first 15 minutes of the Festival of Kot'Baval! And at 3 pm in the Superheroes room, they are supposed to be screening Heroes
episodes with Nichelle and Zach, and I do need to eat something before that.
Wish I had better pics. But the lighting was awful in the main event hall, no matter what setting I used on the camera, and the light from the windows in the signing area was falling oddly and making it hard for the camera to figure out what to focus on.
