This is just a quick post to assure you that I am indeed alive, though I did go at least 8 days without reading my flist. If you left a comment on a post of mine in the last two weeks, I'm not ignoring it, I just haven't been able to answer things! I've been kept too busy. I originally typed up a long post explaining what's going on, but when I read it, it sounded like I was complaining and desperately unhappy. Which I'm not...it's just for various reasons, real life is having to take priority over most online things right now, and real life is demanding a giant chunk of my time. I'm hoping I can manage to get through to Labor Day and that I can take a couple extra days off over the holiday weekend so that I can try to get my life in order.
(I'm one of those people that when the amount of things that needs done piles up too much, I can't function at all because I'm constantly worried about all the stuff I have to do. It's hard to find that optimum point where I have enough deadlines staring at me to keep me motivated and efficient, but not so many that I feel like I'll never get it done and I give up and go watch TV and eat potato chips.)
Anyway. I have a few hours to myself today before I go to a co-worker's Mary Kay party in freaking Elk River which is 40 minutes away. I should be cleaning house but have spent the last 60 minutes catching up on online things. I'm trying to motivate myself to get up and work but it's not happening. I'm seriously thinking about taking several days' vacation and doing nothing, since my psyche seems to be clamoring for a big chunk of downtime right now. If I did that and got my fill of relaxing, I think it would improve my ability to concentrate and accomplish things.
And do you know what I just heard??? Dave Foley is going to be on an episode of SGA. Not only am I a drooling KITH fan, but I don't think Dave has done anything quite like that before. I've never been able to get into Stargate (like everyone, I'm into Daniel, but Daniel isn't in every scene) but this one should be fun.
Also, Primeval starts tonight on BBC America. I'm cautiously looking forward to it. I'm not into dinosaurs, but the 20-minute preview on the On Demand channel looked interesting.
